Capture nature's beauty, light and luminosity while creating your watercolor quilt.  Smooth color transitions, movement from light to dark and illusions of depth will be discussed as participants learn how to use value and color to create the nuances found in Impressionist's paintings.  Paper and pencil exercises are followed by fabric placement and sewing.

• Sewing machine, in good working order, 1/4" foot, manual - not needed for the first class
• Iron and ironing board
• Heavy duty extension cord and multiple socket outlet strip
• Basic sewing kit
• Ruby beholder or value finder
• Rotary cutter, ruler (6" x 24") and mat
• Pizza or shirt boxes: 4
• Tissue paper, white: 4 sheets
• 2" Grid flannel: 2 yards
• 1/4" Graph paper: 4 sheets
• Colored pencils: inexpensive
• Masking tape

FABRIC: 400  2" x 2" squares purchased from a quilt shop (makes a 30" x 30" quilt) or

Optional: Quilt Fuse (TM). This product is specially designed for watercolor quilting.  Fuse squares into place and fold along the lines and stitch continuous 1/4” seams for perfectly aligned squares.
