Simply Stunning Sliced Stars Paula Golden What to do with a large print fabric that has been sitting in your closet? Cut it apart and use one print area to reassemble it into different stars in either a 6, 8, 10 or 12 finished size block. Directions for all sizes are included on Paulas pattern. Surprise abounds when you see what is in the stars.
Fabric Stars: The amount of the fabric you will need for the stars will depend on the size of the print you have chosen. Purchase enough fabric to have at least 10 repeats of the print area you like best. We will be using eight for the stars. That leaves one repeat to change your mind over and one to make a mistake on. Background: If possible, please wait to purchase the fabric until after the stars have been cut out. Often there will be many colors that will go well with the stars but one that truly makes them sparkle. This one color often is not apparent until the stars have been cut out. Another option is to bring fabrics from your stash that go with the print that you have selected, 1 yard pieces depending on the size of your finished block. Sashing: The amount of fabric for sashing will be covered in class. |
